Over 3 Million People Expected to Travel for the Holidays, Beginning Today

Well over 3 million people are expected to pile into cars, crowd airport terminals and board buses and trains for their holiday destinations.

In fact, holiday travel is expected to be two percent higher this holiday season compared to last year.

During the 2014 holiday stretch 3.1 million people traveled at least 50 miles.

AAA Michigan says it’s the highest travel volume for the holiday period in 14 years. Data only dates back to 2001.

Nationally, the number of year-end holiday travelers is expected to top 100 million for the first time on record.
