Ottawa Forest Begins Road Study

The Ottawa National Forest wants your input, as it begins a study of the forest’s road system. The Forest Service manages 3,800 miles of roads within the Ottawa’s boundaries. Each road will be the subject of 25 questions regarding its usefulness, condition and environmental impact. Three “Road Study” open houses have been set up, to give you a chance to share your opinions. The first will be Monday, September 22nd, at the Iron River City Hall. The second will occur on Thursday, September 25th, in the Lindquist Center at Gogebic Community College. The final open house will be Tuesday, September 30th, at the Ewen-Trout Creek School.  All open houses will be held from 3:00 to 6:00, local time. If you’d rather submit written comments, you can do that here.
