ORV Rider May Face Charges Following Accident

An ORV rider may be facing charges after crashing into a boulder.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Calumet Post were sent to the No. 4 road just off of US-41 Sunday night around 8:00pm.

The witness who called 911 said he watched the ORV fail to negotiate a corner and strike the boulder.

The rider was thrown from the ORV and suffered numerous serious but non-life threatening injuries.

He was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital for treatment.

Police say alcohol is a factor in the crash and Troopers are seeking charges from the Houghton County Prosecutors Office.
