Knowing one of the three former names of MTU gave the Nonesuch Know-It-Alls of Ontonagon the Smackdown Trophy in the 14th edition of the local history event Thursday night at the Calumet Theatre.
Ten high school teams started the quiz sponsored by the Keweenaw National Historic Park, fielding questions on history in the four counties and in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, questions also pertaining to parks themselves.
Nine of the teams survived to the intermission in the fifth round, avoiding two wrong answers.
The defending champion Minettes of Dollar Bay took third, lasting till the tenth round.
It took four more rounds until Nonesuch eliminated Hanka Homesteaders of Baraga for the championship.
