One person dies in a roll over accident in Marinette County

A rollover crash in Wisconsin claims one life on Christmas Eve.

At 7:30 pm on Tuesday Marinette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover accident in Stephenson. Law enforcement says a vehicle driven by Chase Cutty, 25 of Crivitz Wisconsin, was traveling on County Highway X when he began to pass another vehicle in a non-passing zone.

Cutty lost control of the vehicle, entered a ditch, then struck several trees. Cutty was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. An investigation by police shows Cutty was likely not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained in the accident. Officers believe speed and alcohol were other factors in the crash.

Marinette County sheriff’s office says the incident remains under investigation in collaboration with the county medical examiner’s office.
