One recall petition against Governor Rick Snyder has cleared the state’s top elections board, but nine others failed.
The Board of State Canvassers approved petition language on an effort to recall the governor for moving the School Reform office into a state department that falls under his authority.
However, nine other recall petitions against the governor for his handling of the Flint water crisis failed.
Several were rejected for not being factual.
A lawyer for the governor says some of the petitions included misspellings or used statements from Snyder that were taken out of context.
Backers of the approved recall petition now have to collect 789,133 signatures to put the question on the August 2nd ballot.
