Susan Marie LaFernier, age 59 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 6, 1960 in L’Anse, MI daughter of Terrence and Karolyn (Lucas) Reed. Susan graduated from L’anse High School in 1978, and married Dale LaFernier on May 27, 1978 in Baraga, MI. She received her LPN from NMU in 1993 and worked at UP Medical Center, Bell Hospital Physician Offices as an LPN, then worked for the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians in the housing department. She enjoyed shopping, home decorating, and craft shows.
Surviving are her husband Dale LaFernier of L’Anse; children, Ken LaFernier of Marquette, MI, Nathan LaFernier of L’Anse, MI, Pam (Kenny Tonak) LaFernier of L’Anse; grandchildren, Brendan, Kaden, Kylen; mother Karolyn Reed of L’Anse; brother Tom (Stephanie) Reed of L’anse; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Terrence Reed.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 3rd from 2-4:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Julie Belew will officiate. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
