Obituary: Susan L. Pittsley

Susan L. Pittsley, age 71, of Baraga, MI passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 14, 2023. She was born in Phelps, Wi on July 21, 1951, the daughter of the late Herman and Irma (Dain) Prey. Susan attended school in Watersmeet, MI. She married Thomas “Tom” Pittsley in Watersmeet, MI on June 20, 1970. Susan had been employed as a housekeeper with various hotels. She enjoyed painting pictures on her iPad, reading, cooking, taking road trips, puzzles, and going to the stock car races in Greenland, MI. Susan loved spending time with her grandchildren and having a full house with her family and friends.

Susan is survived by her loving husband Tom of Baraga, children Melissa (Tim) Cherney of Green Bay, WI, John (Jennifer) Pittsley of Kewaunee, WI, and Jennifer Pittsley (Taylor Mayo) of L’Anse, grandchildren Krystle, Ryan, Macy, Hunter, Autumn, Maverick, Maddison, Mason, Sophia, Elijah, Amelia, and Danica, great grandchildren Adrianna, Gabriella, and Amara, sisters Arlene Janik of Watersmeet, and Judy Kuntz of Kenton, MI. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald, Ronnie, Robert, and Gary and sister Nancy.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 in the Ceremonial Room, located at the Ojibwa Senior Center, Baraga from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Robert Yerks will be held at 11 a.m. Immediately following the funeral service, the family invites friends to join them for fellowship and a luncheon at the Senior Center.

Spring interment will take place in the Baraga Cemetery.
