John R. Diemart, 85, a resident of Eagle Harbor passed away on Thursday August 6, 2020 at Gardenview Assisted Living in Calumet.
He was born on January 19, 1935, to Harold and Margaret (Demerling) Diemart in Hammond, Indiana. He attended the local schools. After graduating high school, John attended Michigan Technological University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
For the majority of his life, John lived in the Chicagoland area where he owned and operated Hawk NDT. John built oil penetrate systems for CanadaAir, Boeing, and the U.S. Navy. He retired to Eagle Harbor in 2014.
He loved sailing, hunting in Wyoming, and fishing on Lake Superior. He also restored a 1940 Ford. He was quite the chef, though he never led on to be one, but when he was cooking his food was the best!
On November 14, 1991 he married Phyllis Diemart in Cook County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Diemart, and his daughter, Lorrie.

Per John’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
