Edward Joseph “E.J.” Thomas, age 69 of Baraga, Michigan passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse, MI.
He was born December 18th, 1954 in Iron Mountain, MI son of Glenn and Lois (Meyers) Thomas. In 1972 he graduated from Kingsford High School. He served in the U. S. Army from June 1973-June 1975. E.J. worked as a union steel worker, drove truck for the teamsters, and worked construction until 1993 when he began E.J.’s Salvage, which he owned and operated until 2004.
E.J. was very mechanical and loved tinkering in his pole barn. He was known for making anything out of anything. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
Surviving are his daughter Dawn (Thomas) Scott of North Prairie, WI; twin grandsons, Eli and Graham; and his significant other Marcia Thomas of L’Anse.
Preceding him in death are his parents Glenn and Lois.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
