No Credit Checks to Make Hiring Decisions Under a Bill in a MI House Committee

Employers couldn’t use credit checks when making hiring decisions under a bill introduced this session in the Michigan House.

State Representative Henry Yanez is sponsoring the bill this go-round.

Yanez says the recession years ago was the driving force when this bill was first introduced.

And while he concedes most people’s credit scores have rebounded since then another economic downturn can happen again.
