No Contest Plea for 3rd Man Involved in Cougar Killing

The third man accused of killing a cougar in Schoolcraft County pled no contest in court Monday. 42 year old Todd Anthony Richard of Burt, MI was sentenced to 30 days in jail on one count of taking, possessing, buying, or selling an endangered species. Richard will forgo his jail sentence because he paid his court fines and costs. He was also sentenced to complete 24 hours of community service within 30 days. Richard and two other men, Troy Richard and Theodore Richard, allegedly killed a cougar in December.
