No Appeal from Raise Michigan

It appears that those pushing for a minimum wage increase to $10.10 per hour for all workers including “tipped” employees in Michigan, will not challenge last week’s state Board of Canvassers ruling that bars their proposal from the ballot. The attorney for the group calling itself Raise Michigan will recommend the coalition toss in the towel on the effort rather than challenge the decision in the courts. A decision is expected sometime this week. In an action earlier this year, the Michigan legislature approved and the Governor signed a minimum wage increase to $9.25 per hour. That plan includes an 87-cent-per hour increase for “tipped” workers.
