After what board members described as a fantastic first year, Northern Michigan University’s President Fritz Erickson’s contract has been extended.
Initially, Erickson was only under contract for the preceding and upcoming school year, but another two years have been added to the contract.
At the NMU Board of Trustees July meeting, praise for Erickson filled the room.
Erickson will receive a two percent base salary increase along with a bonus for the success from this past school year.
But there is more work to do.
The NMU President added that he has spent a considerable amount of time learning and understanding the culture of the campus and local community and is excited for what the future holds.
