New MI Veterans Program

Michigan will be one of three states to pilot a new program by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce encouraging businesses to hire veterans. The All Star Vet States program, run through the Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes program, allows states to highlight their efforts to encourage veteran employment. Governor Snyder says the initiative gives the state a chance to highlight the incredible opportunities, services and support Michigan offers to attract and hire transitioning service members and military spouses. As of November 11, the state had commitments to hire 50,000 veterans. A link to the website will be available on the Keweenaw Report webpage.
