New MI Democratic Party Chair Will Resign House Seat

The newly elected head of the state’s Democratic Party is resigning from the Michigan House next month.

State Representative Brandon Dillon is serving his last term in the House.

Over the weekend, the Grand Rapids Democrat was chosen to take over for Lon Johnson, who is stepping down to run for Congress.

Dillon’s departure is effective Monday August third.

A special election will be held to fill his soon-to-be vacant House seat.
