New Family Medicine Doctor Comes To Aspirus Houghton Clinic

HOUGHTON – Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital welcomed a new board certified physician, Dr. Tony Malik, to its excellent family medicine team. Dr. Malik is now accepting patients of all ages at Aspirus Houghton Clinic.

Malik, Tony MDBoard certified in family medicine, Dr. Malik brings extensive experience in comprehensive inpatient, outpatient and urgent care to patients at Aspirus. He served as a family physician at Riverview Medical Associates in Bay City, Michigan, where he embraced the patient-centered medical home model of care. He also worked as a Hospitalist at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Clare, Michigan, where he was instrumental in initiating Tele-Medicine in conjunction with the University of Michigan.

His philosophy of care is to provide the “highest level of quality care and compassion in collaboration with the patient.”

Dr. Malik is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and his wife, Amanda, is from the local area. What he’s most excited about working at Aspirus is, “Having the opportunity to really help people here in the Copper Country and providing a great service to the community.”

Dr. Malik completed his family medicine residency at then Synergy Medical Education Alliance in Saginaw, Michigan. His externship experience includes rotations at several hospitals and clinics in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He instructed Anatomy and Physiology at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland.

Also an avid outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Malik is happy to be in the Upper Peninsula where he can enjoy year-round recreation with his family.
