New Challenge to U.P. Wolf Hunt – May 23, 2014 – Todd VanDyke
The organization trying to ban wolf hunting in Michigan has asked the Department of Natural Resources to rescind the order that established the hunt. The petition filed by Keep Michigan Wolves Protected says the decision to implement the hunt was based on distorted data… specifically, incidents reported by John Koski at his farm in Ontonagon County. Koski recently pleaded guilty to charges that he neglected three donkeys given to him by the state to help protect his cattle herd from wolves. Keep Michigan Wolves Protected says the killing or injury of a hundred cattle on the farm should be dropped from the statistics the DNR used to justify the hunt.
