MVAA Trying to Raise its Profile

The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) is trying to raise awareness about the services it provides.

The MVAA wants the state’s vets and their families to know there is an in-state resource they can use to learn about available federal, state and local benefits and services.

To get that message out, the service has launched a new ad campaign for its 24 hour Michigan Veteran Resource Center and its hotline 800-MICH-VET.

Suzanne Thelen of the MVAA says they want those experiencing issues in their transition or need information about benefits of have questions to know they can reach out to the MVAA for assistance.

Thelen says since launching the resource center in 2014, they’ve gone from about 80 calls a month to about 2,400 calls.

Veterans can also connect with the MVAA online at MichiganVeterans.com.
