MTU Construction Adjusts Traffic

Construction at Michigan Tech for their new Welcome Center has caused a lot of congestion in front of the Memorial Union Building. Therefore, traffic changes, which are effective starting this week, have been announced. All traffic on Houghton Ave. will become one-way, from the stoplight at MacInnes Dr. to Hubbell St. running east to west. This is the campus drive in front of the library and the MUB. All metered parking directly in front of the MUB along Houghton Ave. will be inaccessible on both sides of the street. The traffic in front of the MUB will be shifted to the south in order to give the contractor enough room to work. Access to Lot 12 will be maintained throughout this period. This traffic change is temporary and will end the first week of August.
