MTU Board of Control Meeting Next Week

Michigan Tech’s Board of Control will meet next Thursday with a very busy docket on hand. On the agenda is a report that the University has surpassed its fundraising goal for the year and ended the fiscal year with a positive balance. The Board will also hear that five Michigan Tech faculty members have received prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Awards–the most Tech has ever received in a year–and they’ll also learn about a $5 million grant from the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation for a Michigan Tech-led project to develop a new way to teach middle-school science. Also, the Board will elect a new chair and vice chair for the coming year and make three appointments to the Michigan Tech Fund Board of Directors.
