MSU Japanese History Professor Likes Obama's Hiroshima Visit

It’s a timely visit. That’s what an associate professor of Japanese History at Michigan State, Ethan Segal, calls President Barack Obama’s visit to Hiroshima, Japan 71 years after the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on that city to end World War Two.

He says Mr. Obama wants to focus on reducing nuclear weapons around the world.

Some have criticized the president’s visit, saying it makes America look weak, but Segal says he thinks the Japanese view the trip positively.
