State Police troopers will be watching extra-closely for impaired drivers over the next several days.
As part of the 6-State Trooper Project, extra staff will be assigned to focus on traffic safety issues, with an emphasis on both enforcement and education.
The Michigan State Police has been taking part in 6-State Trooper Projects since 2012. The other five states are Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia.
