Michigan Tech President Glenn Mroz will continue to serve on the Michigan Education Trust board of trustees.
Tech Today reports that Governor Rick Snyder has appointed Mroz to a three-year term.
The Michigan Education Trust is a prepaid college tuition plan that enables families to pre-purchase tuition based on today’s tuition rates.
The plan then covers the future cost of tuition when the child reaches college.
MET can be used at any Michigan public university, college or community college.
If a student chooses to attend a private or out-of-state institution, the money in the MET plan can be refunded to that institution.
Contributions to a MET prepaid tuition plan are tax deductible.
Mroz had been selected in August to serve the remainder of the term which expired at the end of 2015.
