Get prepared for more short closings of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge later this month.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says there will be intermittent nighttime closures of the bridge January 25th through the 29th.
Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes between 7 and 11pm and delays of up to 30 minutes between 11pm and 4am.
The lower bridge deck will be closed to snowmobile traffic during these closures as well.
MDOT will be testing new bridge components which require a series of lifts.
The $8.4 million project started in mid-December 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in mid-April.
