More Fun at Winter Carnival

With Winter Carnival wrapping up in the next two days, there is still lots to do. Sleigh rides and dog sled rides are available for those walking around campus, looking at the completed snow statues. At noon, kids can meet the Michigan Tech Huskies mascot Blizzard. Also, the Alumni-Student Broomball Invitational begins today as well as the first of two Michigan Tech Winter Carnival hockey games versus Alabama Hunstville. Later tonight, comedian Bob Saget will be at the Rosza Center for an adults-only show as this year’s Winter Carnival comedian. Also tomorrow, as a part of the festivities, the city of Houghton will be hosting an ice sculpter at noon in front of the Douglass house in downtown, who will be using a chainsaw to create his work. Later,  fireworks will light up the sky at 8:30 pm, followed by the Torchlight Parade. Winter Carnival will then commence with the Awards Ceremony and the Snowball Dance. For more details on the schedule, head to the Winter Carnival website.
