The two downstate women who went missing after visiting family in Ishpeming two weeks ago have been found.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Negaunee Post say 53-year-old Leslie Roy of Nebraska and 56-year-old Lee Wright of Oklahoma were found alive and in good condition.
Officers located the pair while conducting an air search with an MSP helicopter shortly before 2:30 Friday afternoon. Roy and Wright were located in a remote area of northern Luce County near Crisp Point on Lake Superior.
Police say it appears that Roy and Wright’s vehicle became stuck on Crisp Point Road and the two had remained there since April 11th.
The helicopter landed on the beach near the incident where officers began rendering first aid and making arrangements to have the two women transported to Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry for precautionary medical evaluation and attention.
