More people are working in Michigan, according to new jobless numbers.
The state’s unemployment rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point to 5.1 percent, the same as the national rate and the lowest recorded in Michigan since July 2001.
Numbers from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget show the state added about 1,000 people to its workforce last month.
Last year, at this time, Michigan’s unemployment rate stood at 6.8 percent.
