The U.S. Census Department says Michigan’s population has grown for the fourth straight year, but its growth is slowing.
The state however remains the 10th most populous state.
Michigan gained just over 62 hundred residents during the past year and its population is just over 9.92 million.
However the Detroit News reports Michigan’s growth may not be enough to prevent it from losing one of its 14 congressional seats after the 2020 census.
Most of the high growth states are in the South and West.
