While average U.S. gas prices have gone up about eight cents over the past few weeks, prices have dropped about nine cents in the past week in Michigan.
AAA Michigan says the average statewide price for a gallon of gas is about $1.98, about 36 cents less that this time last year.
The lowest average price is in the Saginaw-Bay-Midland area where it’s about $1.89 a gallon.
The highest prices in the Marquette area at about $2.04 a gallon.
