Michigan's Craft Beer Industry Continues To Grow

Michigan’s craft beer industry hasn’t hit its ceiling yet, according to the head of the state’s craft brewer’s guild.

Michigan Brewers Guild Executive Director Scott Graham says there’s more growth ahead for the industry, despite the fact it would seem the state is bursting with breweries.

That’s because some are choosing to open brewpubs, restaurants where beer is brewed onsite, as opposed to opening a production brewery and fighting for shelf space and tap handles.

There are still some pockets of the state light on breweries though with Graham singling out the northeast corner of the state.

He testified before a House committee in late January on the state of Michigan’s craft beer industry.
