Michigan Tourism Industry Expected To Remain Strong

Michigan’s tourism industry is expected to remain strong this year.

That’s the word from Michigan State University researchers who presented their annual report today at a statewide tourism conference in Lansing.

Natural attractions and national parks saw a big increase in attendance.

Researchers say low gas prices and increased consumer confidence led to the increase in tourism.

They predict a 3 percent increase in tourism prices and a 5 percent increase in tourism spending this year.
