A new analysis says Michigan is the 10th most unhappy state in the union. The list comes from Wallethub.com.
The website compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 25 metrics, including emotional health and income levels.
Michigan ranks 50th in income growth rate, 44th in adequate sleep, 39th in its depression rate and 38th in its hedonometer score, which measures the happiness of large populations in real time.
Michigan does better in volunteerism and its suicide rate, where it ranks 19th.
Utah is the happiest state. West Virginia is the least happy state.
