Michigan Tech Plans to Adopt Finlandia’s Nursing Program by Fall 2023

With the closure of Finlandia, Michigan Tech has started operations to integrate the nursing program from Finlandia. There are plans to have the program certified and implemented for the Fall 2023 semester.

“Our intent would be to bring the program over as intact as possible so we can can move towards certification quickly” – Michael Mullins

President of the University Senate at Michigan Tech, Michael Mullins, commented there is even interest in a nursing program among the current student population. There is not yet an official decision as to which department it will be in.

“We’re working with some of the departments on campus. It hasn’t been entirely decided yet but there are several places it could go including, maybe, the Biology department here. But, space is being identified already for classrooms on campus for the nursing program. We’re going to try to make it as seamless as possible for the students so they can can just kinda step right in from where they left off at Finlandia, and to take classes and do the practicums and other things that are necessary.” – Michael Mullins.
