Michigan School System Ranks Below National Average

Michigan’s school system ranks below the national average in a 2016 education ranking.

Education Week’s annual Quality Counts report graded states based on chance of success, K-12 achievement and school finance.

After averaging those three scores Michigan earned a C-minus grade scoring 71.8 out of 100.

The national average is a 72.9, a C grade.

Topping the list is Massachusetts, which earned a B-plus with and 86.8.

At the bottom is Nevada with a D grade at 65.2.
