MI Reps Holding Congress Fiscally Responsible

Two U.S. Representatives from Michigan are ready to hold Congress fiscally responsible for the country’s debt. Yesterday Representatives Dan Benishek and Kerry Bentivolio introduced the Spending Accountability Act, which reduces the pay of the members of Congress if a federal budget deficit exists in the prior year. Benishek says it’s a common sense measure that simply asks Congress to do its job or take a 15% pay cut. The Congressional Budget Office recently announced that America’s debt is estimated to reach 26 trillion by 2023.
