The Michigan Natural Resources Commission has approved new fishing regulations that take effect immediately and will remain in effect for the 2016 fishing season, which begins April 1st.
Christian LeSage of the DNR, says the changes give anglers more opportunities to catch walleye, northern pike and muskie by reducing the size limits on several lakes.
LeSage says in most cases the new regulations allow for better population management of certain species, and hopefully create even more opportunities in the future.
All of the changes are highlighted in the online version of the 2015 Michigan Fishing Guide, available at michigan.gov/fishingguide.
