Michigan’s unemployment rate was slightly higher in November.
State officials say the jobless rate rose one-tenth of a percent in November from October to 5.1 percent.
The workforce rose by 21,000, total employment advanced by 15,000, while the number of unemployed increased by 6,000.
The jobless rate is 1.4 percent lower than a year ago and a tenth of a percent above the national rate.
The state says that 11 months into the year, Michigan’s 2015 year-to-date average unemployment rate was 5.4 percent.
That’s nearly two percentage points below the 7.3 percent 2014 annual average rate.
