MI House to Weigh Senate Road Funding Plan This Week

Lawmakers in the Michigan House return to Lansing today to talk road funding.

They’ll be mulling over a plan passed by the Senate two weeks ago that includes $700 million in cuts and a 15 cent gas tax increase.

The increase could be the biggest hurdle in the House.

Numerous lawmakers tell the Michigan Radio Network it’s too much.

House Speaker Kevin Cotter went as far as calling it “aggressive.”

Legislative leaders don’t expect to have a road funding fix finalized this week.
