MI House Seeks To Limit Fundraising License Plates

The state House says ‘no more fund-raising license plates in Michigan.’

Requests to approve a couple dozen plates, from abortion to Sleeping Bear Dunes Lakeshore to Detroit sports teams, have bombarded officials.

The bill, sponsored by state Representative Peter Pettalia of Presque Isle, would require all future fundraising plates to cover their own costs, while capping the number of plates at 10 and establishing sales quotas.
