MDOT Plans Meeting To Discuss Hancock Streetscape Project

The Michigan Department of Transportation and the City of Hancock will host a public information meeting for this summer’s project to reconstruct US-41 in downtown Hancock.

The meeting will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Hancock Tuesday, April 5th at 6pm.

MDOT is reconstructing Reservation and Quincy streets in Hancock in 2016 and will work on Front Street and the M-26 ramp in 2017.

Work includes removing and replacing the existing roadway, with drainage improvements.

Streetscape work includes decorative street lighting, curb bump-outs and landscape plantings.

The City of Hancock will be performing water main and sanitary sewer improvements in addition to MDOT’s work.

The work is scheduled to begin in April and be completed in July 2017.
