The one-hundred-year-old road was completely replaced with infrastructure improvements. The roadway added a center turning lane, creating a safer road configuration and leading to a better flow of traffic. The 9.6 million dollar project was a part of the state’s 3.5 billion dollars spent on road improvements in 2022, the most spent on infrastructure in Michigan’s history.
