Marsh, Punzel Claim RTK Wins – Monday Sports Wrap

NBA

The NBA Eastern Conference finals will be decided tonight, when the Celtics host the Heat. After falling behind 3-0 in the series, Boston has won three straight to force game seven this evening.

NHL

The NHL Western Conference playoffs continue tonight, as the Golden Knights visit the Stars. Vegas leads that series 3-2.

MLB

Eric Haase’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the Tigers to a 6-5 victory over the White Sox yesterday. Detroit took an early lead on Akil Baddoo’s grand slam in the third. Eduardo Rodriguez allowed one run over six innings, but Chicago scored four times off Will Vest and José Cisnero to surge ahead in the seventh. Riley Greene tripled and scored on Javier Báez’ groundout in the bottom of the ninth to extend the game.

The Tigers host the Rangers this afternoon. Matthew Boyd will start against Nathan Eovaldi. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers’ bats woke up yesterday in a 7-5 victory over the Giants. All of Milwaukee’s runs came in the first two innings, with the big blow a two-run homer by William Contreras. Colin Rea gave up a run over six innings, but left in the seventh as San Francisco scored four times.

The Brewers have today off, and begin a series at Toronto tomorrow night. Adrian Houser will pitch against Yusei Kikuchi.

Cycling

Kyle Marsh of Hancock won the Expert Enduro event in a photo finish at Ride the Keweenaw yesterday. Marsh covered the four trail sections in Copper Harbor less than three tenths of a second faster than runner-up Thomas Allison of Duluth. Leia Schneeberger of Madison turned in the fastest women’s time.

Hezekiah Punzel of Grand Junction, Colorado, took the title in the Sport Enduro, finishing more than 21 seconds better than John Seres of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Anna Rose Nelson of Wausau claimed the women’s title.
