Marquette Mayor Tom Baldini Passes Away at age 74.

The city of Marquette is mourning the loss of Major Tom Baldini who has passed away as the result of a stroke he endured over the weekend. Baldini was a pillar in the community both for Marquette and the Upper Peninsula and has held many public offices including a U.S. Chair position where he was appointed by former president Bill Clinton to oversee all of the shared waters between the United States and Canada. Baldini was the President of the Fourth of July Fireworks Committee for the Marquette Area. He has also served on Michigan Tech’s Board of Control and taught Government and Economics for 22 years at Marquette Senior High School.
