Manistique Postal Worker Charged With Destroying Mail

A former U.S. Postal Service mail carrier in Manistique has been indicted on charges of mail destruction.

According to a statement from U.S. Attorney Patrick Miles, Sarah Paradise allegedly did not deliver Standard A Mail, which is bulk business mail, in Manistique from March 2013 until early March 2014.

The indictment alleges that Paradise delayed, detained and destroyed mail she was entrusted to deliver to an area that covers hundreds of residences in the heart of Manistique.

The charges come after an investigation by the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General.
