An Upper Peninsula chicken farmer has won big on the Michigan Lottery. Jeff LaBar of Manistique won $3.3 million in the Classic Lotto 47 game for last Wednesday’s drawing. He bought his winning ticket at the Shell Gas Station on US-2 in Manistique. LaBar chose to get his winnings in a one-time lump sum, which comes out to $2.1 million before taxes. LaBar says he didn’t even think to check his ticket until his brother heard that the winning ticket had been sold in Manistique. He says that the money will come in handy since his home recently went into foreclosure. LaBar says that he will keep operating his chicken farm, and also plans to take a vacation to Hawaii with his wife, and visit family down South.
