Another snowmobile accident has resulted in injury.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened Monday on Trail #3 just after 4pm.
A St. Paul, Minnesota man was reportedly going northbound on the trail about one mile north of Twin Lakes.
That’s where he lost control of the snowmobile after hitting an embankment on the side of the trail.
This caused his snowmobile to veer across the trail and into a large tree.
The driver was thrown from his 2012 Polaris snowmobile and hit the tree, causing injuries to his legs.
He was taken to U.P. Health System–Portage by Mercy Ambulance for treatment.
His condition was not reported.
The Sheriff’s Department was also assisted at the scene by the Adams Township Fire Department First Responders along with the Twin Lakes Rescue Unit.
