Lt. Governor Calley's Wife Rumored To Be Running For State House

The wife of Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley appears interested in a run for a Michigan House seat this year.

Republican Julie Calley has created a campaign committee to run in the 87th House District, a Republican stronghold that includes Barry as well as a portion of Ionia County.

The Gongwer News Service reports that while Calley has not commented, sources tell the news organization that she will run for the seat, which becomes vacant because State Representative Mike Callton is term limited this year.

Julie Calley currently is chair of the Ionia County Board of Commissioners.
