This past weekend, Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley made a stop in the Copper Country to talk about job creation and economic growth in the area. Calley met with a few local lawmakers and business owners at GS Engineering in Houghton and was given a tour of the facility. He says after getting a first-hand look at some of the projects, he came away very impressed.
After the tour, Calley listened to concerns local businesses have that may not be the same as those downstate. He said the U.P. is essential to the state’s comeback because it has so much to offer.
Among those in attendance were State Representative Scott Dianda and Northern Hardwoods general manager John Kantola.
