Two snowmobilers that were missing in the Porcupine Mountains have been rescued. Benjamin Jenney Sr. and Benjamin Jenney Jr., from Albertville, MN, became lost near Silver City in Ontonagon County on Sunday afternoon. The father and son had no survival gear with them. They were able to send a text saying they were stuck in the woods at around 5:30 p.m. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post and volunteer snowmobilers began searching for the father and son Sunday night, until blizzard like conditions forced them to call off the search Monday at 1 a.m. After six hours of searching, both snowmobilers were found in good health. They were taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital by ambulance to treat hypothermic and dehydration symptoms.
